(11 lakes), Kremenski Lakes (5 lakes), Banderishki
Lakes (16 lakes) and more.
The flora and fauna are also hallmarks
in Pirin. There are more than 1,300 plant species and 18 endemic plant species.
Many plants are extremely rare and under protection. The most famous tree
in Pirin is the Baikushev's Pine.
There are more than 2,000
invertebrates and 250 vertebrate species. Many of these are endangered and need
special protection: The most common animals include: Chamois, Brown
Bear, Wolf, Roe Deer, Red Deer, Wild boar,Eurasian Badger, Red
Fox, Eagles and Falcons, Capercaillie, Eurasian
Eagle-Owl, Woodpeckers.
The Pirin Mountains is a perfect
place for hiking. Moreover, it is an excellent opportunity for landscapes,
nature and wildlife photographers who come from all over the world to Pirin
mountains.
