Paradise of Bulgaria, Pirin Mountains




Bulgaria is a beautiful country with many nice beaches, lovely churches, winter sport opportunities and beautiful architecture.

 Pirin  in Southwest Bulgaria is one of the most beautiful destination where the amazing landscapes and beautiful lakes, not to mention the wildlife and nature.  The range is a national park and part of the UNESCO World nature heritage. There are many rivers in Pirin mountains take their sources from the mountains.

The eyes of the mountain – as known in the Bulgarian folklore- is one of the breathtaking landscapes in Pirin, it is a group of lakes surrounded by rugged marble slopes and snow-capped peaks. There are many important lake groups such as Popovo Lakes (11 lakes), Kremenski Lakes (5 lakes),  Banderishki Lakes (16 lakes) and more.
The flora and fauna are also hallmarks in Pirin. There are more than 1,300 plant species and 18 endemic plant species.  Many plants are extremely rare and under protection. The most famous tree in Pirin is the Baikushev's Pine.

There are more than 2,000 invertebrates and 250 vertebrate species. Many of these are endangered and need special protection: The most common animals include: Chamois, Brown Bear, Wolf, Roe Deer, Red Deer, Wild boar,Eurasian Badger, Red Fox, Eagles and Falcons, Capercaillie, Eurasian Eagle-Owl, Woodpeckers.

The Pirin Mountains is a perfect place for hiking. Moreover, it is an excellent opportunity for landscapes, nature and wildlife photographers who come from all over the world to Pirin mountains.

Discovering new worlds is nice, but discovering rare and strange places is great! if you looking to have this feeling -just like me- then you should travel to Socotra island - Yemen, it is one of the few rare and strange places in the world, where you can find things only in Socotra - like the plant in the photo to the left-  not any other place in the world! Hoq Cave.. The amazing cave of the charming island!

Hoq Cave or Hala Cave in the island of Socotra, Yemen is an amazing tourist destination. The cave located on a foothill behind the village of Hala east of the island. On the road to the cave, there is a forest of rare and strange plants, in addition to birds and insects. To reach the foothill, you need about an hour that depends on your speed and how many times you stop to take pictures! Inside Hoq Cave The temperature drops once you got to the cave mouth, as you walk inside the cave, it getting cooler and cooler, the same thing with light, where you will find yourself in total dark and dead silence in the middle of nowhere! Numbers of limestone stalagmites and stalactites spread in every inch of the cave, those amazing shapes have been forming thousands of years ago by drops of water falling from the wet ceiling.
