Canon EOS 5D MARK II Short Review

Canon EOS 5D MARK II DSLR CAMERA
Canon EOS 5D MARK II Short Review
By: Muneer M. Binwaber
In August 2005 Canon defined the first compact full-frame camera Canon EOS 5D (DSLR).  The first thing we should know about this camera is its Full-frame feature, where this feature give the camera many advantages such as larger pixels, lower noise at high ISO levels  and advantages for wide-angle photography which makes it ideal for wedding, architecture and landscape photography.
In September 2008 Canon announced its first video recording capabilities DSLR camera that was the second edition of Canon 5D and called Canon 5D MARK ii, and in March 2012, Canon announced Canon EOS 5D MARK iii.
Canon 5D MARK ii features 21.1 megapixels (5,616 × 3,744 pixels), compared to 12.8 megapixels (4,368 × 2,912 pixels) in Canon EOS 5D.  Pixel size is a very important attribute of a sensor’s overall performance – typically the larger the pixel, the better the overall performance.  This feature is great for very large size prints and high quality video presentation. Because Canon EOS 5D MARK iii features 22.3 megapixels the image quality is little better than MARK ii.
In 2008, Canon introduced the new DIGIC 4 processor, used by the EOS 1100D/Rebel T3, EOS 500D/Rebel T1i, EOS 550D/Rebel T2i, EOS 600D/Rebel T3i, EOS 50D, EOS 60D, EOS 5D Mark II and EOS-1D X. this feature makes image processing much faster than the processor in Canon EOS 5D, but is not as fast as DIGIC 5+ which is 17x the performance of the DIGIC 4 and used in MARK iii.
Canon EOS 5D MARK ii has larger LCD than 5D, the 3.0-inch VGA resolution LCD provides a wide 170 degree angle-of-view, providing plenty of clarity for accurate focus checks in playback. The screen brightness can automatically adjust to suit viewing conditions, extending battery life in low light and improving viewing in bright conditions. On top of the camera is a large LCD control panel which provides a wide range of information about camera settings and exposure, this feature makes it easier and faster to check setting.
The strong body of Canon EOS MARK ii is made up of magnesium, the only plastic elements being the sides and the base. This construction makes it better in dust and rainy condition.
Canon 5D MARK ii has great exposure modes, start with the Fully Automatic Exposure where the camera has complete control over exposure, point-and-shoot operation and end by Full Manual Exposure where the photographer – not the camera – select the aperture and the shutter speed.
The other great features about Canon EOS 5D MARK ii are the ability to capture full HD video and external HDD and GPS compatibility.
